The first game of the San Francisco Footy season is finally here! Also, the Full SF Footy Season is out and attached to this email. Schedule subject to change, based on total number of sign-ups, but the dates and times will be the same.
The SF Footy open day is Sunday, February 23. The daily schedule and venue remain the same, only the date changes! We hope to see all the people we met last Sunday at the field, and WAFL Star, Ryan “Clarky” Clark will be in attendance to sign autographs and have his picture taken with you. He will also be teaching you the basics of football and regaling you with tales of the outback.
LOCATION: The event will take place at West Sunset Playground, at 41st and Quintara, upper level. (L-Taraval from downtown to 40th Ave)
12:30pm – players arrive and warm up / LEARN TO PLAY!
13:00pm – Co-ed games
14:30pm – SF Footy Awards for best new players
15:00pm – end of games, move on to a nearby watering hole
This is a co-ed game day where both men and women – including those completely brand new to the sport – can come along and play. There will be coaching and drills running for anyone who wants to learn the basics before joining in on the game. Or, you can just come and cheer from the sidelines!
SF Footy is a co-ed Australian Rules Football league that plays its games on Sundays in San Francisco. We are a group of people who love playing sports and are into new things.
Footy is like a cross between Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee and Basketball. Its a great game so come out and give it a try!
"The friendships and camaraderie I have got from this group is enough to last a lifetime. I have made so many good friends and play a great game! Thanks, SF Footy!" - Jill
